| Years ago the normal practice, when
a man felt led of the Lord to enter the ministry, was to go to college and
earn a secular liberal arts undergraduate degree, then go to seminary for
three years for his ministerial training. He was then awarded the
Bachelor of Divinity degree. Today, however, with the advent of the
Bible College offering undergraduate degrees in Biblical Studies and
Pastoral ministry, more men seek the Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry or
the Master of Theology degree for their advanced studies. These advanced degrees presuppose
previous Bible training at the undergraduate level. Trinity
believes that there is still a place for the The Master of Divinity degree.
The Master of Divinity program is essentially the old Bachelor of Divinity
degree and is designed for the man with a secular undergraduate degree who
now believes that God has called him into the ministry.
The Master of Divinity program requires 96 credit hours of study above
the Bachelor level. Listed below is a sample program of study.
Individual requirements vary depending on the applicant's previous
education, degrees, and ministry experience. |
